The Surge Levels are one of the game mechanics in Power of Ten.

Description

With the Surge Levels, you will be able to add new conditions to each run you play in the game, making it increasingly more difficult and providing with achievements and great rewards by beating such levels. Have you managed to finish a run with all ships in the common way, and you don't know what else to do and it feels like it's time to uninstall the game? Please don't, as Surge Levels are certainly challenging for you heavy runners, so don't miss out on the Surge modifiers (e.g. lower health, higher number of enemies, bigger civilian saving requisites...) that will drive you crazy and be the next step in your gaming routine for Power of Ten.

List of Surge Levels

  • 0 - Base: No modifications included to normal gameplay.
  • 1 - No Prog Upgrades: Upgrades gained through progression levels no longer apply to your ship and you cannot find timewarped upgrades.
    Beat a run in with Surge Level to unlock the ingame achievement Surge Trainee
  • 2 - Death Matters: Civilian deaths will accumulate across every region. Maximum deaths allowed is increased by 50.
    Beat a run in with Surge Level to unlock the ingame achievement Surge Initiate
  • 3 - Armored Nats: Small enemies will start with a weak shield.
    Beat a run in with Surge Level to unlock the ingame achievement Surge 3 Complete
  • 4 - Shield Bust'n: Shieldbreakers will occasionally spawn with other ships.
    Beat a run in with Surge Level to unlock the ingame achievement Surge 4 Complete
  • 5 - Moar Ships: An additional planet attacking ship will spawn with each wave.
    Beat a run in with Surge Level to unlock the ingame achievement Surge 5 Complete
  • 6 - Death Matters II: Maximum deaths allowed decreased by 50.

  • 7 - Unrelenting Assault: Less time between system attacks.
    Beat a run in with Surge Level to unlock the ingame achievement Surge 7 Complete
  • 8 - Bettr Fastr Strongr: Deadlier enemies start appearing sooner.
    Beat a run in with Surge Level to unlock the ingame achievement Surge 8 Complete
  • 9 - Death Matters III: Maximum deaths allowed decreased by an additional 20.
    Beat a run in with Surge Level to unlock the ingame achievement Surge 9 Complete
  • 10 - Soft Shell: It takes 2 additional armor charges to increase your max armor.
    Beat a run in with Surge Level to unlock the ingame achievement Surge 10 Complete
  • 11 - Death n Taxes: Travel Pod resource costs are increased by 5%.
    Beat a run in with Surge Level to unlock the ingame achievement Surge 11 Complete
  • 12 - Marathon Runners: Increased Deadeye armor scaling.
    Beat a run in with Surge Level to unlock the ingame achievement Surge 12 Complete
